Songs of the Alps is the story of a journey through Switzerland inspired by a lifelong dream.
As a child, the author was captivated by Heidi, Girl of the Alps. From that time on, Switzerland became a land of imagination and longing—a place of green meadows, grazing sheep, quiet chapels, small mountain villages, and snow-covered Alpine peaks.
Years later, the author finally set out to see that beloved landscape with her own eyes.
A Journey Through Europe and Switzerland
The journey begins in Frankfurt, Germany, continues through the Alsace region of France, and crosses into Switzerland.
Along the way, readers encounter Bern, Gruyères, Montreux, Zermatt, the Matterhorn, Lucerne, Mount Rigi, and many other unforgettable Alpine landscapes.
Accompanied by photographs, the book captures not only the beauty of Switzerland but also the small and meaningful stories of fellow travelers met along the way.
